What Makes us Special?

We have had afternoon tea here & whilst the food was lovely what stood out most for us was the amazing friendliness of the staff, they were very professional, helpful & polite.

We had a night and dinner at this lovely Hotel, the food is amazing, the staff are very attentive and the rooms are lovely bright and clean. Would definitely visit again. We had a room with a balcony which was a lovely place to drink champagne on a sunny afternoon.

The highlight of our stay was unquestionably the dining experience both for dinner and breakfast. The menus offered a wide range of choice and the presentations and flavours made every dish a delight. It was interesting to learn the owners started their careers as chefs!

We had a lovely stay. On arriving we had a great massage, followed by a lovely meal. They were really great in accommodating my food intolerances. All the staff were friendly and so very helpful. We will be booking again, thank you.

Excellent service throughout stay. Food was incredible, including breakfast. Stayed in Samphire room which was lovely. Highly recommend this family owned hotel.

We visited The Norfolk Mead Hotel for my dad's surprise 60th meal, with some of our family attending from Devon. The location was brilliant and the food was amazing! There were a lot of comments of the brilliant quality of food, choice of wines etc.

Everything was perfect. Not our first stay but our first Murder Mystery. The whole experience was brilliant. So much fun. Food was fantastic, lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting. See you again very soon.

Had a wonderful spa and afternoon tea day with the girls. Facials, manicure and pedicure all lovely. Treatment rooms are beautifully kitted out and very relaxing. Illuminating facial perfect and lovely products. Very good afternoon tea.

The best afternoon tea we’ve had by a country mile ... everything from the service, choice of teas, nice fresh fluffy bread and warm scones which didn’t crumble! 10/10

We have lived in Norfolk now for nearly 13 years and have had been out for hundreds of Sunday Lunches, and been here a few times, but this tops the lot, absolutely first class from the minute we arrived, the food was incredible, we had all three courses at a cost of £32!

A high class dining experience. Why this place hasn’t got a Michelin Star I can’t quite fathom. Not only is the food above reproach (the fillet of beef is outstanding...always the hallmark of a top chef) but the service is spot on too. Attentive without being obtrusive.

We had an utterly perfect visit to the Mead to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday! Staff could not have been more helpful or attentive and the attention to detail was heart warming. That was refreshing in itself, the food on the other hand was sublime!!! Truly fabulous!

Lovely peaceful setting. We had afternoon tea in the walled gardens which was very nice. The room we stayed in was Rosehip which is nice.

I recently had afternoon tea here with a friend. We had it in the Walled Garden. Stunning views and the Broads are so pretty. The afternoon tea was delicious with a variety of yummy cakes and sandwiches. The scones were amazing along with the service I received. I will return.

We are huge foodies and the quality of the food was exceptional! Amazing tasting and presented beautifully. The service was fantastic from arrival and this standard was upheld throughout our stay.

We had dinner, very reasonably priced wine list, and it was just fantastic, we have recently eaten at a 2 Michelin starred restaurant in Paris and this was easily of the same standard.

The food produced here cannot be beaten anywhere in the County. Local produce all beautifully cooked and presented.

Went for birthday dinner, lovely choices on a set menu. Each dish was tasty and without fault. We all enjoyed it, staff were friendly and efficient. A lot of thought had gone into the food.

What do we recommend about the place? ... simple ... EVERYTHING! The hotel, its setting, the staff and the food have all been amazing, in these strange times they have nailed the new ‘normal’ and we can’t wait to come again!! Well done to all at the Norfolk Mead!

Great venue for an evening meal or a great Sunday lunch ... The Mead has done whatever they can to keep us all safe, from moving tables around so there is no close contact with other tables, the staff have masks on all the time, full table service inside and out ... Full marks.

Just celebrated our wedding anniversary and had the best meal I think I've had for a long time, if ever! Amazing flavours and attention to detail. Staff are consistently welcoming, professional, friendly ... such a lovely well-run, beautiful place XX

We had dinner at the Norfolk Mead and the food was superb, tasty, fresh, perfect portion size. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. All Covid19 precautions were being followed strictly and we felt safe.

Just back from a stay at this lovely hotel. It was our first visit but won’t be our last. The food was excellent, from the evening meal to breakfast, great range to choose from, all homemade. The staff are a credit to the hotel, friendly, polite, nothing too much trouble.
